Donald Trump Faces Technical Difficulties at Detroit Rally

DETROIT -- Donald Trump found himself pacing the stage in silence for almost 20 minutes during his Detroit rally on Friday night after his microphone cut out unexpectedly.

As he was about to embark on a discussion regarding tariffs, teasing the audience with “the most beautiful word in the dictionary,” the sound unexpectedly failed. Despite the crowd's enthusiastic chants of “USA” and “We love Trump,” he continued to wander the stage, appearing frustrated and occasionally turning his back to the audience.

This incident marked the second disruption of Trump's events in just a week. Previously, he abruptly ended a town hall meeting on Monday due to medical emergencies in the audience, opting to play music instead. Without control over this technical issue, Trump stood silently as the room screens displayed messages about “Technical Difficulties” and “Complicated Business.”

Known for his sensitivity to image and event mechanics, Trump had recently been the subject of jokes on “Fox & Friends” regarding his meticulousness with details like lighting during interviews. Typically traveling with backup mics, the reason for the delay in finding one on Friday remains unclear.

In response to the awkward moment, Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign shared a video on social media, suggesting that the 78-year-old Trump might not possess the energy to reclaim the presidency, remarking on his “exhausted” demeanor.

Throughout the ordeal, the crowd maintained its excitement, engaging in chants and even doing the wave. Eventually, after nearly two decades of silence, an aide provided Trump with a working microphone. He quipped, “I won’t pay the bill for this stupid company," highlighting the incident with a touch of humor.
