Changes to the "blocking" feature on platform X
Robotics news > Changes to the "blocking" feature on platform XAnkara
X's official account announced a change to the blocking feature, stating that individuals blocked by a non-private user will still be able to view that user's posts but will not be able to like or comment on them.
The announcement noted that the "blocking feature can be used to share harmful or private information about blocked individuals," and emphasized that this update aims to enhance "transparency" on the platform.
Users concerned about who can see their posts are advised to keep their accounts private.
Elon Musk, the American billionaire who acquired the platform in 2022, has been known to criticize the blocking feature since then.
Possible Violations of App Store and Google Play Policies
Reports indicate that the changes made by X could potentially violate the terms set by App Store and Google Play. These platforms require social media applications to provide users with the ability to filter "harassment or bullying." However, no statements have been released from these platforms regarding this issue yet.
A similar attempt was made on Twitter, now known as X, back in 2013, allowing blocked users to see and interact with the posts of others. This feature was removed within hours due to criticism.
